Answer the question first
Start with what the person wanted to know. If your brand is part of the answer, it comes second, and only once. A reply that opens with a pitch gets skipped, and often removed.
Match the community
Reddit rewards directness and detail. YouTube comments are short and informal. LinkedIn leans professional. The same fact can be said three ways, and each community notices when it is said the wrong way.
A good mention reads like a contribution to the conversation, not a copy and paste.
Keep it short
Two or three sentences are usually enough. If the thread needs more, give the useful part and stop there.
Check, then adjust
A reply is not finished when it is posted. Look at it again after a day, a week and a month:
- After 24 hours: is it still live, and did anyone react?
- After 7 days: which kind of reply got likes or answers?
- After 30 days: what should the next one change in tone, length or timing?
This is the loop Supermention runs on every mention, so the next reply lands better than the last one.
